1) Dan Weisselberg/Mapache Sound

Mapache Sound is a personal project of Israeli Bassist Dan Weisselberg to document and archive Live Jazz performances by NYC’s premier artists from up-and-coming young lions to seasoned veterans from vibrant Jazz club scenes.

As an immigrant artist himself, Dan understands the importance of having promotional materials for fellow artists with O-1 visa and provides the audio recording and film footages to support foreign artists to build strong resumes for application/extension of artist visa status.

Though GYS Dreambird Project 2022, GYS support his Mapache Sound project by giving him once a month residency at our headquarter Ornithology Jazz Club to archive shows with live audio/video recordings.

In June 2022, GYS successfully curated GYS Dreambird Project 2022: Mapache Sound Artist Showcase for established nonprofit Chashama at Anita’s Way in midtown.

And this show will be a curated showcase of Jazz artists that have been big part of Dan’s musical journey. Free admission!! GYS Dreambird Project 2022 proudly sponsors Courtney Wright Jazz Orchestra, a 20 piece Jazz Big Band led by young rising star Baritone saxophonist/arranger Courtney Wright.

After global pandemic cast a bleak future for the Jazz Orchestra and big bands, GYS decided to support Courtney’s passion to keep dreaming of Jazz Orchestra performance to “make people feel good again ”.

All of her band mates are in their early 20’s and 30’s with full of promising talents.

They will move your heart with their pure dedication to master this art form Jazz.

GYS promotes her orchestra by letting them rehearse at our headquarter Ornithology Jazz Club and try producing live performances with other organizations and business entities.
